Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. Meeting on the development of cooperation with manufacturers of refractories and materials

At the beginning of the second ten days of October, the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter SSR) held a meeting on the development of cooperation with manufacturers of refractories and materials.

The meeting was chaired by Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz " of Russia.

The possibilities of scientific research into refractories and materials for use in glass furnaces were discussed at the meeting.

In his speech, Viktor Osipov indicated that at present there is no single methodology for designing glass furnaces, supplying refractory materials, installation work, or operating a glass furnace. It is necessary to involve specialized institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN), research institutes, and universities in this work to develop and approve a single document. It is necessary to lay down technical requirements at all technological stages, which will increase and improve the production potential in glass melting.

Nikolai Talakuev, director of the department of technical regulation and quality control of the SSR, proposed to rename the refractory service of the SSR into the service for technical regulation of the application and use of refractories and materials in glass melting. The indicated design will make it possible to overcome the difficulties of technical regulation of production, consumption and operation of glass furnaces.

These conclusions are consistent with the proposals of Igor Murzin, head of Novomoskovsk Refractory Company LLC, who proposes to work on developing the production of refractories and materials together with refractory plants on the basis of a new structure in the USSR on an ongoing basis.

Viktor Osipov said that the main task at the current stage is to develop the new structure through coordinated teamwork.

Priority tasks have been set and are being solved according to plan:

• A complete range of products for the glass industry has been collected from refractory factories.
• An in-depth analysis of the needs of refractories and materials for glass factories until 2030 is being carried out.

The new service will allow joint work with refractory plants on a systematic basis.

The meeting participants were invited to continue the discussion of complex issues at the annual Forum “Glass and Modern Technologies - XXI”, which will be held on November 30, 2023 at the Russian Chemical Technology University named after D. Mendeleev at the address: Moscow, Miusskaya Square, 9, Big Assembly Hall (entrance from 1st Miusskaya Street, 3 / checkpoint).
