Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. Meeting on preparations for the 25th annual international Forum «Glass and Modern Technologies-XXI»

On May 31, 2024, the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter referred to as SSR) held a meeting on preparations for the 25th annual international Forum “Glass and Modern Technologies-XXI”, which will be held from November 20 to 21, 2024.

Maria Kovaleva, project manager, made a report on the progress of preparing the industry-wide event. She said that preparations for the main final congress of glass factory leaders are proceeding as planned.

The 24th meeting was held at the Russian Chemical Technology University named after. DI. Mendeleev December 14, 2023. A number of decisions were made at the Forum, including on the development of the production and consumption of glass and products for various sectors of the national economy, the raw material base, additional and special education of glass factory specialists.

As part of the decisions taken, the SSR, together with institutes and experts, conducted a number of studies on the production of various types of glass products until 2030. Currently, on the basis of existing forecast indicators, work is being carried out with various sectors of the national economy of the Russian Federation.

Research has been carried out on the consumption of refractories by glass factories until 2030 in the context of the range of materials consumed in the construction of glass furnaces.

Studies have been conducted on the consumption of various types of raw materials by glass factories.

Expert calculations were made of the consumption of raw materials from cullet by glass factories, taking into account the special specifics of the production of finished glass products.

As you know, regulations on extended producer responsibility have come into effect. The documents have a number of inconsistencies that need to be eliminated by the professional community together with the relevant ministries and, ultimately, with the Russian Government.

Much work is being done on additional professional special education.

The business program of the Forum is currently being prepared. The theme of the annual industry event: “Features of the glass industry in modern conditions. Problems of training specialists using additional professional training for the glass industry of the Russian Federation and CIS countries. Prospects for improving personnel retraining.”

The meeting was chaired by Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia. In his speech, he expressed a number of wishes regarding the Forum’s business program.

The leaders of the Scientific and Technical Center (STC SSR), committees, departments and services of the SSR identified the desired topics that need to be considered at the industry event.

The annual Forum “Glass and Modern Technologies-XXI” is held for the 25th time and has established itself as a format necessary for the harmonious development of the glass industry.
