Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. System meetings on the state of the glass industry in Russia. March 24, 2021

On March 24, 2021, a meeting on the development of the collection of cullet for re-melting at glass factories was held at the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter SSR).

As you know, StekloSouz of Russia is planning to implement the Development Program for this segment, which is necessary for the sustainable position of the factories.

In 2017, the Representative Office of StekloSouz of Russia was established in the South and North Caucasus Federal Districts. Over the past period of work, the structure of "StekloSoyuz" has significantly increased the collection and supply of raw materials to glass factories.

Vyacheslav Tulinov, Head of the Development Department of the Representative Office of the "StekloSouz" Association in the South and North Caucasian Federal Districts, developing the growth of cullet collection shows that joint work with regional authorities is necessary for coordinated work with authorized operators.

Currently, a lot of work is being done with the heads of federal districts: Siberian and Far Eastern, Central and Northwestern.

The final task: to raise the collection of raw materials to a new level through the new structural formations of the "StekloSouz" Association of Russia.

According to the participants of the meeting, a thorough analysis of the EPR Concept will allow formulating a number of issues before the Government of the Russian Federation, overcoming which will make it possible to competently support glass factories from the state, stimulating an increase in the consumption of re-smelting of raw materials from cullet.

The meeting was chaired by Viktor Osipov, President of the "StekloSouz" Association of Russia.

In his concluding remarks, he said that joint work with federal and regional authorities will increase the collection of cullet and its processing into raw materials.

A steady increase in the amount of raw materials is a guarantee of growth in its consumption at glass factories.

Viktor Osipov said that an increase in the charge of raw materials for re-melting is a guarantee of an increase in the life cycle of glass-melting furnaces, a decrease in CO² emissions, and energy savings, which will inevitably affect the competitiveness and profitability of plants.

At the same time, the state problem is being solved - the unique quartz sands, irreplaceable natural resources, will go to new generations of glass-makers.
