Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. Round table «Key rate of the Bank of Russia and the inadmissibility of its increase»

Dear Colleagues!

On April 19, 2021, in the building of the State Duma (Moscow, Okhotny Ryad st., 1, hall No. 304), a round table "Key rate of the Bank of Russia and the inadmissibility of its increase" was held in anticipation of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (23 April 2021).

The meeting was held with the participation of the "StekloSouz" Association of Russia.

They discussed the impact of the monetary policy of the Bank of Russia (including the key rate policy) on the availability of credit resources and, as a result, on the state and dynamics of development of the real sector of the Russian economy; prevention of an undesirable increase in the key rate of the Bank of Russia; directions of changes in monetary policy in the Russian Federation: improvement of tools and methods of its implementation in order to ensure economic (primarily industrial) growth; substantiation of the need to reduce the key rate, change the benchmarks and mechanisms and, in general, soften the monetary policy in the Russian Federation.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of the Russian Federation (representatives of the relevant committees of the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, relevant ministries and departments of the Government of the Russian Federation), representatives of the leadership of the Bank of Russia, heads of industry associations (unions) and large enterprises, prominent scientists, public figures, media representatives.

At present, the experts of StekloSouz have sent a letter of support to the collective appeal of the meeting participants about the inadmissibility of raising the key rate and the need to ease monetary policy in the Bank of Russia.
