Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. Off-site meeting at the State Educational Institution of Higher Education «Gusev Glass College» named after G.F. Chekhlov on issues of additional professional education and secondary professional education

On June 26, 2024, on the initiative of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (SSR), at the State Educational Institution of Higher Education “Gusev Glass College” named after G.F. Chekhlov held a meeting on issues of additional vocational education (DPE) and special vocational education (SPE).

The meeting was attended by the leaders of the SSR and the Gusev Glass College.

Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, in his speech outlined the problems of training personnel for glass factories and additional vocational education. Viktor Osipov proposed to jointly create a system of interaction, including organizing the acquisition of practical skills by students at factories in the Russian Federation.

Yuri Filchakov, director of the State Educational Institution of Higher Education "Gusev Glass College" named after G.F. Chekhlov, spoke in detail about the development of the educational institution, educational programs and the organization of internships for students at glass factories. He dwelled in detail on the restoration of the institute of mentors.

At the same time, he noted that it is necessary to create favorable conditions for teachers, including economic ones, so that young specialists are willing to go to work.

Olga Kuzmina, deputy director for additional and special vocational education, shared her experience of additional vocational education within the educational institution. What programs are used to train plant specialists?

Lyudmila Korshunova, director of the "StekloSouz" Scientific and Technical Center (STC SSR), proposed creating a unified information database for different specialties with accessible use.

Yuriy Shaida, head of the working group (WG) of the DPO for the operation of mold kits, made proposals to teach some specialties according to the approved Programs directly at the factories and to use distance learning in terms of theoretical training. Yuriy Shaida told how modern designers work in practice.

The meeting participants adopted a draft decision. The document will be coordinated with the heads of factories and educational institutions.

In conclusion, the participants of the retreat were shown the modern infrastructure of the college. Classrooms equipped with modern equipment, furnaces for the production of art glass, a conference room, and a dining room.

GAPOU VO "Gusev Glass College" named after G.F. Chekhlova is being transformed thanks to the leadership of the region and the staff of the educational institution. Restoration work is currently underway.

The management of "StekloSouz" Russia is confident that the modern, highly professional teaching staff will confidently overcome all difficulties and continue to train highly educated specialists for the glass industry.
