Analysis of the market for rail shipments of glass in the third decade of November 2022

Sheet glass analysis. In the third decade of November 2022, the negative dynamics of glass shipments by rail to the Russian market (domestic deliveries + imports) continued to slow down - minus 14.8% compared to the corresponding period last year. In the second decade of November - minus 17.1%.

For the period from the beginning of the year to November 30, 2022, the shipment of glass by rail to the Russian market amounted to 33.9 million tons, which is 10.4% less than in the same period in 2021 (a decade earlier minus 10.3% - see . schedule).

A decrease in the supply of glass by railway transport for the period from January 01 to November 30, 2022 is observed in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - the dynamics for the period from January 01 to October 31, 2022):

NCFD -31.7% (previously -26.7%);

CFD -22.2% (previously -25.4%);

NWFD -10.0% (previously -19.0%);

Siberian Federal District -14.1% (previously -15.1%);

Volga Federal District -4.9% (previously -0.2%);

UFO -3.4% (previously -3.1%).

The positive dynamics of glass shipments by rail for the period from January 01 to November 30, 2022 is maintained in the following regions of the Russian Federation (in brackets - the dynamics for the period from January 01 to October 31, 2022):

Southern Federal District +13.4% (previously +10.5%);

FEFD +5.5% (previously +4.3%).

For comparison: the dynamics of railway shipment of glass for 9 months of 2022 was -6.6%, and the dynamics of the entire glass market was -9.6%. The share of railway shipments of glass to the Russian market in total glass consumption in 2021 was about 20%.
