Tempered Glass Production Launched in Surgut

An automated glass-tempering line from Jinglass has begun operation at the facilities of TANDEM LLC in Surgut, marking a significant step in the development of the industrial potential of the Yugra region.

According to the press service of the Yugra Department of Industry, this state-of-the-art equipment integrates three technological stages: heating, cooling, and the transport of glass blanks. The entire manufacturing cycle for tempered glass takes less than 15 minutes.

The technology relies on a rapid temperature shift: the glass is heated to 700 degrees Celsius and then cooled instantaneously. The resulting product is visually indistinguishable from ordinary glass but is 5–6 times stronger. Such glass can withstand significant stress—including the weight of a person or a blow from a hammer.

The applications for this product are extensive. Tempered glass is in demand for construction (such as panoramic glazing), the automotive industry (including windshields), and the manufacturing of furniture, doors, components for saunas, and various other items.

The launch of this new line was made possible through regional support: the company received a low-interest loan of 33.7 million rubles from the Yugra Development Fund under the "Manufacturing" program. The enterprise is expected to reach its full capacity—78,000 square meters of glass per year—by July 2027.

TANDEM LLC is already supplying its products to local construction sites and private households. Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its production capabilities by installing glass-cutting equipment, allowing it to offer customers a more comprehensive range of services.
