Volzhsky fiberglass reinforcement plant expands production

There are first successes. According to the Russian Export Center, the volume of Volgograd non-commodity products shipped abroad in 2018 exceeded 1.5 billion rubles. This is 38.5% more than a year earlier. The successful solution of the assigned tasks is promoted by the institutes of support and development of industrialists. In particular, with the assistance of the Export Support Center last year, Volgograd businessmen held talks with foreign companies at two international exhibitions in Kazakhstan. Among those who have already concluded long-term contracts for the supply of products to countries near and far abroad, and the Volga plant for the production of fiberglass reinforcement.

- Production begins with the filing of threads on the line. It passes initially, is heated, enters the impregnation system.

From these thin filaments of fiberglass, which are collected in bundles, are impregnated with a special liquid resin and undergo a process of polymerization in the furnace, at the exit, rods of fiberglass composite reinforcement are obtained.

The product, unique in technical terms, has already proved that it is a more functional and profitable alternative to traditional steel rods. A small enterprise in Volzhsky produces up to 300 kilometers of valves per month. And its scope of application is quite extensive: construction, road and agriculture, animal husbandry, bank protection.

Alexander Ukustov, operator of the line: “Advantages over iron, there are many different factors. Because it is stronger, it is much lighter, it does not burn. 30% cheaper than iron fittings. It does not conduct current, does not rust. And its service life is over 80 years. ” The Volga plant today is among the five best Russian manufacturers of composite fittings and was recognized as the best exporter for last year. The company is known far beyond the region, specialists regularly participate in international exhibitions, this has helped to enter the market of the CIS countries.

Evgeny Matveev, general director of the company: “As our production expands, we, accordingly, expand our field of activity, open our representative offices in other regions, such as Moscow, Rostov, Astrakhan, Saratov. Our representative offices for the sale of our material are opened in these regions. ”

In the near future - the launch of a new line for the production of composite mesh. More labor-intensive production will appear here in May. And although it will require high costs, it will bring more profit. By the way, this year more than 60 million rubles will be allocated from the federal and regional budgets to the development of small and medium export-oriented enterprises - the volume of state support will increase eightfold compared to 2018.
