In Russia, will create ultra-durable glasses for smartphones

According to the project manager, the head of the department of glass and the SITRs of the MUCTR, professor Vladimir Sigaev, the sitalls combine high temperature stability with transparency and mechanical strength, while at the same time costly in production.

The problem of low strength screens of mobile gadgets lies in the fact that the default glass is fragile material. Whatever methods of processing and hardening procedures it was subjected to, due to the initially low hardness during operation, defects accumulate in it, which inevitably lead to destruction under shock load. The sitalls offered by the employees of the RCSTU are obviously stronger than glass and are free from these disadvantages.

At the first stage of the project, scientists will develop and obtain the first working prototypes that will be provided for research at LG CHEM laboratories.
