Treasure from the Dobrynin"s Well
In the 1960s-1970s, weekend hikes, including the Ambur Lakes, were popular in Severodvinsk. In 1970, the Dobrynins family of such tourists bought a small old house in the village of Amburskie. Since the water in the local lake has a bitter marsh flavor, we decided to look for a well with good water. A well, covered with earth, was found on the outskirts of their house. They noticed him by two rotted crowns, hidden by a bush. The children of the Dobrynins began to dig it out. The tools were an iron shovel, tripod and bucket. In the bottom of the well began to come across glass bottles. They began to take them out of the ground with their hands and lift them up. In total, about a hundred bottles were raised. How they got there, you can only guess. Perhaps it was like this.

At all times, pilgrims have flocked to the Ambur monastery from everywhere. In the summer, pilgrims gathered here under the specious pretext of picking mushrooms and berries. The Ambur prayer house was revered by many as a shrine, and not only Old Believers, but also Orthodox, went to it to worship. Guests came in large numbers on foot, came on horseback, settled in different houses. There were meetings, feasts. That is why there are so many bottles of beer, wine and mineral water. The skete was inhabited mainly by elderly people, sometimes weak. They, of course, needed medicine. This explains the large number of found pharmaceutical utensils. bzu According to one of the most interesting copies, Dobrynina was postponed, washed and removed to the attic of the house, where they were kept for about thirty years. In 2005, Leonid Fedorovich offered his collection to our museum. In the funds of the museum 56 most unique items were selected.

Beer, wine, pharmacy ...
The Ambur glass collection includes pharmaceutical and perfume bottles, beer, wine, vodka, mineral water and milk bottles, as well as technical packaging. They are diverse in shape, size, thickness, purpose and capacity. Depending on the contents of the bottle, the color of the glass varies from colorless to green, brown, greenish brown. At various times, drugs, perfumery, milk, beer, wine, mineral waters, etc. were stored in them.

The largest group in the collection is a collection of pharmacy bottles, including vials from metropolitan pharmacies, cylindrical, tetrahedral, hexagonal, octahedral forms of colorless glass and glass with a greenish tint. They, as a rule, do not have labels with the name of the contents and the designation of the manufacturer. A characteristic difference in these products is the presence of relief inscriptions or frames, sloping hangers, neck with a roller or a drain, rounded face transitions. On some there are images of double-headed eagles, various inscriptions “Pharmacy”, Pharmacie and stamps of glass producers.

Interesting bottles of mineral water and beer. They were produced from dark green and brown glass of elongated semi-oval shape, with a high neck. Bottles with a volume of 300 milliliters with an oval bottom were intended for horizontal storage in order to avoid the appearance of sediment. Two beer bottles of the Moscow production of the Sokolniki Brewery with the brand of falcon on the body and the State Trigorny Brewery with a monogram of letters “GZ” are impressive. They are tall, massive and heavy.

The collection has a lot of wine, vodka and even brandy bottles. Among them are bottles of the famous “vodka king” Pyotr Smirnov (1831-1898) and the largest winery of Beckmann, the founder (1870) of the vodka company “Beckman and Co”. At the last - the image of a horseshoe and a five-pointed star.

Ordinary bottle? No, a historical exhibit!
Of greatest interest are the "nominal" items that have labels, inscriptions and stamps. For example, glass containers from under the port with a red-brown image of the print of the General Directorate of destinies in the form of a double-headed eagle, in the center of which is the monogram of Nicholas II "Vadomstvo". In this case, the manufacturer honestly warns: "Wine number 33 type" Port ". The bottles of that time have a massive conical base pressed inward with embossed letters on it: "HC". On the bottle with the name “Khlebnoye” in the upper part there is the name of the authority regulating the alcohol turnover: “Centrospirt” and capacity: “0.615 liters”. It shows the cost of wine: 1 rub. 10 kop., The price of dishes: 15 kop. and the final price: 1 rub. 25 kopecks Also interesting is the inscription: "Dishes are subject to reverse reception at the etiquette price."

On the bottle with the label "Wheat Vodka" in its upper part are the inscriptions "Narkomsnab USSR", "Glavspirt". Container capacity is indicated: 1/20 in [edra], equal to five cups or 0.6 l. Only separate inscriptions have been preserved: “The price of vodka, dishes and corks”, which remained unknown. But now we know for sure that “the consumer does not pay for sealing the capsules” and that “it is required to return the dishes together with the cork”. Unfortunately, the paper label on it suffered, so the information was only partially preserved. The strength of the contents remained unknown.

In 1893, the “state sale of drinks” (wine monopoly) was introduced in Russia, meaning the state’s exclusive right to purchase and sell alcoholic beverages. He also owned the right to import them from abroad. Wholesale and retail sales are concentrated in state-owned warehouses and wine shops. Control over it was entrusted to the "General Directorate of neobladnyh fees and state sale of drinks by the Ministry of Finance." One of such bottles with a preserved label is interesting. In its upper part there is a double-headed eagle and inscriptions: “State sale of drinks,” “Moscow province”, “Drinks allowed for sale on commission basis”.

The vodka bottle of the early 1950s was also included in the collection. with the remains of sealing wax and cork inside. These bottles were sealed with paper stoppers in the form of a thimble with a pad of wax paper and filled with wax. When it was uncorked, the sealing wax was poured, the cork was picked out, sometimes pushed inwards.

Among the milk bottles handed over to us are specimens with unusual inscriptions. On one - “USSR Commissariat of Food Industry. Glavmoloko, dated 1934-1946. Another, with the inscription "Soyuzmoloko" - 1931.

Two bottles of vinegar are noteworthy: pre-revolutionary and Soviet, of the fifties. They are both triangular in shape, made of transparent glass with a high figured neck. On the first inscription: "Vrya on 1 bottle." On the second, there is a white-yellow sticker with inscriptions: “Glavleskhim, Wood chemical plant, Dmitriev wood chemical plant, acetic essence”. The technical characteristics are also indicated: strength - 80% and the volume of the bottle (weight) - 100 gr. At the bottom of the recommendation label: “Handle with care. Before use, dilute in 20 parts of water. " The triangular shape of this container from under the vinegar and essence was inherited by the Soviet manufacturers. This form was a guarantee of consumer safety, because such a bottle, even by touch, cannot be confused with any other. It is necessary to especially note the fact that we, the museum workers, were lucky, because these items, which had lain for a long time in unfavorable conditions, in sand, under the influence of atmospheric precipitation, miraculously preserved paper labels, which later helped to attribute them. This collection has not only local history, but also cultural and historical significance. It presents the oldest Russian companies, well known before the revolution. Studying it, it was possible to establish the names of glass producers, the names of firms and enterprises producing various drugs, alcoholic beverages, as well as their locations.
