Saratov Institute for the first time in Russia has mastered the production of aviation glass

According to the press service of the regional ministry of industry and energy, the new line was launched as part of the investment project of modernization and reconstruction of a glass-melting furnace with access to a capacity of 350 tons per day, the project has been implemented at the enterprise since 2015. It is noted that the new production line will allow to master the production of special glass for the aviation industry, which has increased strength and high light transmission, and which is not yet produced in Russia. The press service clarified that the total investment in the project, including on the means of a soft loan from the Industry Development Fund of the Russian Federation, amounted to 1.1 billion rubles.

It is expected that when reaching the design capacity, the output will be 10.2 million square meters. m of extra-clear glass with increased strength for a total of 1.9 billion rubles. Currently, the production volume is 4 million square meters. m glass for 757 million rubles. As a result of the project, it is planned to create 55 jobs. According to the company, a glass cluster will be created at the research and production site of the institute for seven to ten years, which will make it possible to achieve total production and sales of products totaling about 5 billion rubles a year by 2029.
