Russian Ecological Operator plans to create a methodology for encouraging separate waste collection by October

The company is already engaged in this work, we plan to complete it in the mid-third quarter of this year, "he answered the question of how separate collection of waste in the country could be stimulated.

Earlier it was reported that Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeyev on January 31 at the first meeting of the government commission on the handling of production and consumption waste called the transition to the two-stream principle of garbage collection from the public before the end of 2019. This principle assumes that residents put in one container recyclable materials (paper, plastic, metal, glass), not contaminated with organic matter, and in the other - dirty packaging, estimates from the streets and organic waste. A similar system has been operating in the Moscow Region since 2019. According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, in the future, the export of the first container should be free for residents, which will encourage them to sort waste.

From the instructions on the results of this meeting, it follows that the Ministry of Environment should submit proposals on organizing a separate collection of organic waste fractions by February 28, 2019, the mechanism itself can start by the end of 2019.
