Putin signed a decree on the creation of an operator for the disposal of garbage

Decree about creating The company was signed by President Vladimir Putin.

The Russian Ecological Operator is created to ensure the norms of legislation in the field of municipal solid waste management, to stimulate investment activity in this area and to implement the national project Ecology.

He will be engaged in the purchase of land plots to accommodate capital construction projects necessary for the implementation of activities in the field of solid municipal waste management. In addition, it will acquire buildings and structures, equipment for processing, waste disposal and special equipment.

The operator has been tasked to ensure by 2020 the creation and operation of a unified state system for the accounting of household waste. In the meantime, in the next three months, the charter and the provision on the company"s supervisory board should be approved. The latter will include the deputy chairman of the government, as well as ministers in charge of natural resources, housing and communal services and industry.

From January 1, Russia switched to a new waste management scheme. It, including, means separate collection of garbage. The principle of waste management has also changed: the law introduced full control over the movement of waste by regional operators, which should be selected on a competitive basis.
