Putin: ONF should provide effective control over the solution of problems in the field of waste management

“I ask the All-Russian Popular Front to ensure here effective civilian control, including reliance on public environmental inspectors. Their signals of any violations should be considered by the authorities on a mandatory basis, leading to the adoption of specific measures, ”the head of state emphasized.

He added that in the next two years, 30 large problem dumps within the city boundaries should be closed and rehabilitated, and in six years - all the rest. At the same time, it is necessary to increase the share of waste treatment from the current 8–9% to 60% in order not to accumulate new millions of tons of garbage, he added.

“The head of state gave the All-Russian Popular Front a direct assignment: to ensure effective civilian control in the field of waste management,” stressed the head of the ONF Executive Committee, Mikhail Ravozhaev. - We are already closely involved in “garbage reform”, we joined this topic when the first complaints from people from the regions began. We opened a call center for a round-the-clock hotline for receiving citizens from all over the country, our experts and Molodezhki ONF activists conduct raids on the regions, understand the situation, communicate with the registrars, try to help people deal with each problem. In a week we will present a public report on the progress of the “garbage reform” and pass it on to the government, to the officials responsible for conducting the “garbage reform”, to the head of state. This will be a report with real information about how the “junk reform” started in each subject of the Russian Federation. The Popular Front will seek transparency of tariffs and clear plans from regoperators to create the necessary infrastructure for recycling and disposal of waste, and, given the instructions of the head of state, today, I am sure it will be done much faster than we planned. ”
