Petersburg University received a gold medal at the exhibition HI-TECH

On Thursday, the fourteenth of March, the oldest exhibition of high technologies and investment projects in the scientific and technical sphere HI-TECH in Russia, which has been held in the city on the Neva since 1996, under the slogan "from innovation to implementation", ended. Its main goal is to promote effective communication of scientists and potential investors.

Currently, the exhibition was devoted to industrial robotics, nanomaterials, digital production, security systems, environmental management and many other topics. Scientists at the St. Petersburg Mining University demonstrated at the exhibition seven of their projects, five of which were recognized as winners of the innovation competition. So, the most interesting was the development of “Combined technologies for recycling silicon production with the production of products with high added value”. The head of the group of authors, the dean of the faculty of mineral processing, Vladimir Bazhin, focused on the fact that the introduction of this development will ensure the closure of the cycles in the enterprise. In addition, industrial use of garbage will be found, the surplus of which can be used for the production of unique goods and profit. For example, Bazhin noted, transforming waste, it is possible to use them as hardeners in refractory materials, in cement slurries when drilling wells, in the production of technical glasses and in other industries.

It is noted that four other innovations, which became the laureates of the exhibition, addressed the problem of increasing the profitability of the process of enrichment of poor ores, improving the processing technology and building digital elevation models, and also concerned the production of individual compounds of rare earth metals from apatite and the processing of heavy oil.
