Europe has finally banned plastic dishes

Also, the EU countries by 2029 should ensure a 90 percent collection rate of used plastic bottles. By 2025, plastic bottles will have to consist of not less than 25 percent recycled plastic, in 2030 - no less than 30 percent.

In addition, the document will toughen the principle of "polluter pays" - the bill expands the responsibility of producers for damage to the environment. In particular, this applies to fees for nets lost at sea, which will be required to pay not by fishermen, but by manufacturers. Companies will also be obliged to label cigarettes with plastic filters, cups, wet wipes and sanitary napkins with warnings that the disposable plastic negatively affects the environment.

The European Commission proposed to ban disposable plastic in Europe in the spring of 2018. Also, plans to ban the sale of cotton swabs and plastic tubes in the spring of 2018 said the British government.

Plastic accumulates in the seas, oceans and beaches in the EU and around the world due to the low rate of decomposition, noted in the European Parliament. According to him, plastic items account for more than 80 percent of all ocean garbage, with 70 percent of such items falling under the scope of the adopted instrument.
