80th anniversary of the release of the first products of the Tomsk Electric Lamp Plant

80 years ago, the first products of the Tomsk Electric Lamp Plant were produced.

The history of the enterprise began at the end of September 1941, when 229 workers of the Moscow electric lamp and Zaprudnensky glass factories were evacuated to Tomsk.

The newly created enterprise was allocated an unfinished building of the Medical Institute at Prospect Kirov, 5. An assembly line for the production of lamps from semi-finished products was installed in the main building of Tomsk University. The birthday of the plant is December 15, 1941, when the first thousand SM aircraft lamps were shipped to consumers.

The equipment of the Zaprudnensky plant arrived in Tomsk at the end of 1941 and was placed on the basis of a glass plant of medical equipment. In January 1942, lamp and glass production were merged into the Tomsk Electric Lamp Plant. On November 11, 1942, the enterprise was renamed into "State Plant No. 660" (later - into "PO Box 134").

In 1944, 5.7 million lamps were produced; in just 70 years of operation, more than 6 billion lamps were produced.

Tomsk Electric Lamp Plant LLC ceased operations in May 2012. On its basis, a group of companies "SVET XXI VEKA" was created - the only manufacturer of electric lamps (incandescent lamps, LED lamps) in the Asian part of Russia. Modern brand: LEADlight.
