The Association StekloSouz of Russia within the framework of the Business Program of the Forum Building Skin Russia 2019 / Days of the Window in Russia on February 27 organized and held one of the most relevant events for the successful development of the glass market: “Translucent structures. Past, present and future ”. This event is becoming traditional, and the StekloSouz section held in 2018 also attracted great attention of the participants. This year, more than 350 Forum visitors took part in the event. The unique platform, which is the Forum, allowed the Association StekloSouz to unite the joint interests of science, manufacturers of materials, products and structures based on glass, architects, designers, builders, heads of enterprises, technologists and experts.

The range of glass products is constantly being updated, becoming more in demand, modern and high-tech. Technologies, equipment and components are being improved accordingly.

Joint public discussion of topical issues by the professional community made it possible to exchange experience, find optimal solutions, determine the vector of development and organize mutually beneficial cooperation.

The event was traditionally attended by architects, designers, developers, builders, construction organizations, manufacturers of facade structures, manufacturers of sheet and architectural glass, industrial glass processing enterprises, leading scientific organizations, technical committees for standardization, manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, components and materials.

The purpose of the last event is, first of all, the organization of systemic interaction between manufacturers of glass products, glass-based structures and consumers. Joint discussion allows expanding the scope of glass products in construction, increasing the volume of industrial processing of glass and expanding the use of translucent glass-based structures.

Glass is a unique material, but architects, designers, builders and consumers are not always aware of all the possibilities this material provides and how to use it correctly. In addition, the innovative development of the glass industry allows us to offer consumers new, more modern types of glass: tempered and curved glass of large formats, glass with new types of coatings, highly transparent and high-strength glass, glass with ceramic printing, safety and fireproof glass, electrochromic, electrically heated and many others. types of glass products. The use of glass in the interior space of buildings is actively developing, these are glass partitions, glass floors and ceilings, glass stairs, bathrooms and showers. Taking into account the tendency to use large-sized glass products and structures, technologies and equipment for safe glass assembly are becoming important. Modern glass products are structural materials, including load-bearing and interfloor structures.

All these directions and the most relevant information were presented by the "Research Institute of Building Physics of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences" (NIISF RAASN); JSC "Institute of Glass" and the technical committee for standardization TK 41 "Glass", subcommittee PC 24 "Blocks for windows, doors and gates.
