A capsule exhibition of master Vladimir Kasatkin will open in the Crystal Museum in Vladimir Region

On May 12, the Maltsov Crystal Museum in Gus-Khrustalny hosted the opening of a capsule exhibition "Inspired by Gallé", dedicated to the work of glass artist Vladimir Kasatkin. A capsule exhibition is an exposition opened within the framework of an existing exhibition, but allocated as a separate block and supplemented with new exhibits.

The exposition is designed to demonstrate the unique technique created by the master of the Gus Crystal Factory named after Maltsov Vladimir Ivanovich Kasatkin. He continues the traditions of the French glass artist of the Art Nouveau era Emile Gallé, whose innovative aesthetic solutions and technologies made a real revolution in the art of the late 19th century.

Galle created real masterpieces from glass, reproducing the outlines and silhouettes of plants with amazing accuracy. Since the Gus Crystal Factory began producing products in the Galle technique in 1913, using motifs of local flora and Gus landscapes, interest in his work has not faded. Vladimir Kasatkin, preserving the traditions of the past, developed his own unique technique, close to the method of Emile Galle. His products are distinguished by bright saturated colors and a delicate matte translucent texture.

In each work of V.I. Kasatkin, you can see something close and understandable: skiers hurrying to overtake each other, leaves of an old park trembling in the wind, smoking chimneys of their native factory, master glassblowers walking together to work.

The exhibition will be open to visitors at the Maltsov Crystal Museum from May 12 to 25, 2025.
