They want to build a second glass factory in Grodno

The second factory for the production of glass containers are going to be built in Grodno. A new plant is needed, as the demand for ecological packaging is growing in the country, and the existing glass factory cannot expand. The project is put up for public comment.

The new glass production is planned to be built by the Grodno Glass Factory OJSC in the territory of the Auls industrial zone. The current enterprise is located in the city center and cannot increase production capacities. Their plans are to establish production of a brown beer bottle in Grodno with a volume of 0.5 liters. Standard and light weight. Here they plan to produce more than 240 million bottles a year.

Now the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIA) of the new glass production has been publicly condemned. If the project is approved, a new line for the production of glass containers in Auls will begin to be built this year. The construction period is 2.5 years.

Discussions will end on February 7 this year. If the townspeople want to hold a meeting to discuss the project, a written statement must be sent to the Grodno City Executive Committee by January 22.
