In the Vologda Oblast, glass production near Chagoda will be revived

At the investment council under the governor, a project for the modernization and opening of a glass container factory in the village of Sazonovo, Chagodoschensky District was presented and approved.

According to the press service of the governor, the project was closed in 2013 - then due to the "subsidence of the market" and the unprofitability of production, the plant suspended its work and was mothballed. The new project provides for the reconstruction of the production complex, a glass melting furnace, auxiliary buildings, engineering structures and the acquisition of technological equipment.

“We will open one furnace with an annual capacity of about 70 thousand tons - 240 million bottles. We will produce ten positions only in green. We plan to purchase three glass-forming machines, a transportation line, inspection machines and a polletizer. Already in February-March this year, the main share of the staff will come to work, ”said Olga Ivanko, financial controller of LLC Rusjam Steklotara Holding.

The volume of investments will amount to almost 793 million rubles. 159 jobs will be created. The launch of the conveyor of the oldest enterprise in the region is scheduled for April next year.

As the governor explained, the village of Sazonovo has long been waiting for the opening of this plant, which will provide jobs for one and a half hundred people.

Applications for inclusion in the list of priority investment projects were also made by JSC Belozersky timber industry. The company creates the production of wood pellets (pellets) at the site of the existing sawmill in the village of Lower Mondoma in Belozersky district. Another project was presented by Sokol CTEL LLC. Timber manufacturers have already begun construction of the country's first cross-glued panel factory.

The members of the Investment Council decided to approve all four applications, including them in the list of priority investment projects. “These are key decisions for the economy of the Vologda Oblast. The total investment amounted to more than 3 billion rubles, almost 500 jobs. We are ready to provide government support measures for the implementation of large investment projects in accordance with the approved tax legislation, ”the governor summed up.

According to the results of the third quarter of 2019, the Vologda Oblast takes 1st place in the Northwest and 6th place in the Russian Federation in terms of growth in investment in fixed assets. According to experts, at the end of the year, the amount of investments attracted to the region will be a record 160 billion rubles.
