The Ministry of Construction discussed the situation with staff competence

In mid-October, in a large conference hall, chaired by Sergey Stepashin, a meeting of the Presidium of the Public Council under the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of Russia was held.

that meeting was held for the first time without the participation of industry minister Vladimir Yakushev, who was at that time at a meeting with the President of Russia, where issues related to the elimination of the consequences of flooding in the Irkutsk region were discussed.

There was almost one question on the agenda - the quality of the educational process and training for the construction industry. Almost all speakers agreed that the development of the industry should lead to an increase in the competence of personnel working in the industry. According to the speakers, this is not happening here. Statistics and studies show a clear bias, 85% of the labor force in the industry is low- or medium-skilled workers, and 35% of workers are engaged in low-skilled labor, most representatives of the construction business say that there are not enough graduates of the qualifications they need.
