Glass production for MS-21 aircraft began in the Kaluga region

The Tekhnologiya company, located in Obninsk, Kaluga region, began producing glass for MS-21 aircraft. The launch of serial production for this medium-haul passenger aircraft was announced on Monday, February 19, by the deputy governor of the region, Vladimir Popov.

“The glass blocks for the cockpit are made of durable silicate glass and equipped with electrical heating. This ensures bird resistance, eliminates icing and fogging during operation in various weather conditions,” he wrote on his social networks.

Let us add that all the materials from which Obninsk glass is made are entirely domestically produced.

This year the company will produce 12 sets of glass, and by 2030 it plans to expand production to 70 sets per year.

Let us add that earlier Tekhnologiya specialists manufactured side glazing for the driver’s cabin of a high-speed passenger electric train. It can withstand a collision with a flying object at speeds of up to 100 km/h, is resistant to dynamic loads and can be used in adverse weather conditions.
