Biodegradable paper will take the place of glass beverage bottles in the future - at least the Carlsberg Group in Copenhagen has already presented a prototype of the innovative packaging.

In form, the new bottles fully reproduce traditional glassware, but are made of natural materials, the Interfax agency writes with reference to the company's press service. However, while the new packaging is unlikely to go on sale, manufacturers have yet to conduct a series of tests. Now the company is choosing between two technologies that can be used for production. The differences between the latter comes down to the composition of a special film that covers the bottle from the inside. The development itself has been conducted by the company for almost 4 years.

They also try to produce biodegradable dishes in Russia - as Invest-Forsyth previously said, the Samara Polytechnic University offers to produce edible dishes and packaging from fruits and vegetables processed products, primarily apples. Startups offering eco-packaging are also among the graduates of the corporate acceleration GenerationS from RVC. For example, Ekaterina Petrova, Director of GenerationS, told Invest-Forsyth that the Ecopack project developed a solution that allows replacing plastic packaging with edible materials from biopolymers (based on starch and proteins).
