Glass holding appeared in Belarus

The shares of glass factories, which are state-owned, were transferred to the jurisdiction of the "Belarusian Glass Company". The corresponding decree No. 96 of the Council of Ministers of February 18 was published on the National Legal Internet Portal, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

Thus, the Belarusian Glass Company gained control over the stakes in Belmedstekl, Gomelstekl, Grodno Glass Factory (with the Elizovo branch), and the Neman Glass Factory, and a holding will be formed.

The goal of the holding is to increase the production of flat glass 1.4 times over the five-year period, glass bottles - more than 2 times, ampoules - 3.6 times, the government noted. In general, it is planned to improve the financial position of the plants by pooling assets under one roof.

The decision to create this holding was made back in August last year during one of the meetings with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
