In Europe, the exchange of cans and bottles for money has been practiced for a long time and seriously. Thanks to this, in the same Germany it is possible to give a second life to almost all waste of this kind. What is the course of secondary resources in our emerging market right before our eyes? If you have handed over 1–5 bottles, you will receive a 1% discount, 6–10 bottles — the discount doubles, 11 or more bottles - “sign up” for a 3% discount. Coupons, alas, are not summarized, each can be used only once.

“Plastic is considered to be the main cause of environmental pollution,” says Alla Letyago, head of the Corporate Relations Department at Alivaria. “But the problem with PET is not in the material itself, but in how it is collected and recycled. Plastic packaging is safe for health, its production and transportation are less energy intensive compared to glass, which reduces the carbon footprint. PET containers are 100% recyclable, so the main task is to ensure its correct path after use. Taromat may allow more disposable bottles to be recycled.

It is noteworthy that the taromat does not need “bare” bottles. On the contrary, it is important to leave the label: the machine scans the barcode and only after that counts the container (the system cannot recognize the capacity without a sticker), but the presence of a lid is not necessary. Of course, the container should be empty. The new “receiver” is able to accommodate up to 500 PET bottles and aluminum cans from 0.25 l to 2 l.

They plan to export plastic and aluminum containers from the machine to the Spetskommunavtotrans plant, after which the recyclable materials will be sent for re-production. There, former PET bottles will be turned into football uniforms, garden furniture and other useful things.

- According to the latest opinion poll, half of Belarusians sort waste. Over the past eight years, the share of those who collect plastic waste has doubled, ”said Natalya Grintsevich, Director of the Secondary Material Resources Operator. “Everyone should understand that waste becomes a valuable recyclable only if we collect it separately.” To do this, there are special containers, a network of procurement points throughout the country, where you can get a reward for the delivered recyclables. Taromats installed in stores are one way to make garbage sorting convenient and profitable for consumers.
