The city authorities have issued a permit for the construction of Yandex's headquarters. Its walls will be made of glass and titanium panels.

Mosgosstroynadzor has issued a permit for the construction of the Yandex headquarters on Kosygin Street in Moscow. This was reported on the website of the Moscow Stroycomplex. The issued permit is valid until August 11, 2026.

The report states that the 13-16-storey building with a total area of 248.6 thousand square meters provides office (120.6 thousand square meters) and technical (27.4 thousand square meters) premises. The project also provides for underground parking for 1,421 cars, and the building will have five underground floors.

Recall that Yandex bought a plot of about 4 hectares on Kosygina Street, 15, where the building of the Korston Hotel (formerly Eaglet) is located, became known in December 2018. The deal was valued at $ 145 million excluding VAT. At the end of April 2020, the project for the development of this territory was put up for public discussion on the Active Citizen portal (local residents objected to the discussion in this form and complained about the inability to take part in it). From the materials submitted for discussion, it followed that it would be possible to build up to 170 thousand square meters of real estate on the site, and the maximum height of the building would be 75 meters, which corresponds to the height of Korston. At the end of May this year, Yandex reported that the developer MR Group would build the company's new headquarters.

In June, the company unveiled the first design details for its new headquarters. The building was designed by PLP Architecture, headed by architect Li Polisano. The Russian bureaus APEX and RTDA also took part in the work on the project.

The building of the future Yandex headquarters will have several wings of different heights: the closer to residential buildings, the lower. Its walls will be made of glass and titanium panels. The building will be equipped with two large conference rooms, an educational complex and a Yandex museum. There will also be cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. In addition, a multi-level underground parking will appear on the territory.

The territory of the new headquarters will not be fenced off, and everyone will be able to visit it. So, near the office it is planned to equip a public space where it will be possible to play sports or walk with children. In addition, the company will improve the area of about 2 hectares between Akademik Zelinsky and Akademik Zeldovich streets.

In November it became known that Moskomarkhitektura had agreed on the architectural concept of the company's new headquarters. "The Yandex headquarters project will become another example of the implementation of complex, technologically advanced, modern architecture in Moscow. The facades will be faced with titanium panels of a light shade, part of the walls and the atrium will be covered with stained glass. The roof will have a complex outline with exploited terraces along the facade and on the roof. "- noted then the chief architect of Moscow Sergei Kuznetsov.

Yandex currently leases 27,000 square meters of office space in Moscow's Aurora business park and 61,000 square meters in the Krasnaya Rose business center. The lease agreements for both offices will expire on December 31, 2021.
