Saransk brewers do not want to reduce production volumes

On October 21, the head of Mordovia Artyom Zdunov visited the Saransk brewery "AB InBev Efes". The head of the region got acquainted with the production capacities of the enterprise, according to IA "Svetych" with reference to the press service of the head of the republic.

Artyom Zdunov was presented with the results of the activities of the Saransk brewery and malt factories. Thanks to joint work, a production cluster has been created in the region, which combines the cultivation of high-quality barley based on the best world technologies, processing and production of malt, as well as its subsequent use in the production of brewing products. This ensures a stable income of tax payments to the regional budget and a high level of employment. One job at a plant in Saransk creates about 10-12 jobs in related industries.

In recent years, there has been a downward trend in production volumes. This topic was discussed during the meeting of the head of Mordovia and the management of the holding at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum held in June. Agreements were reached on maintaining the volume of interaction, and it was also decided to develop a program to increase production at the facilities existing in Mordovia.

Artyom Zdunov noted that it is fundamentally important for the republic to correct the situation. “Saransk Brewery is one of the largest taxpayers in the region. Hundreds of people work in the industry, we cannot leave them without work, ”the Head of Mordovia emphasized.

Evgeny Unger, executive director of the AB InBev Efes branch in Saransk, said that a few years ago the company purchased a glass bottle at the Ruzaevsky glass plant. Recently, however, the cooperation has ceased. Negotiations are underway to resume partnership relations.

The brewery also plans to launch a line for filling drinks into aluminum cans. Thus, it will be possible to seriously increase the volume of production. The head of Mordovia instructed the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Igor Freidin to ensure interaction with the company to resolve this issue. “If we have the opportunity to increase turnover, we must definitely take advantage of this,” noted Artyom Alekseevich.
