RT-CHEMCOMPOSIT DEVELOPED A NEW ACRYLIC POLYMER FOR SEALING COMPOUNDS

The holding company RT-Chemcomposite of Rostec State Corporation has developed a high-strength anaerobic sealant that maintains its performance under high loads and vibration over a wide temperature range, including in the Arctic climate. Acrylic polymer is used to fix and seal smooth and threaded joints in the assembly of critical components and assemblies of machines and structures in shipbuilding and aircraft manufacturing, machine building, the oil and gas sector and other strategic sectors. The new high-tech material has no domestic analogues, while its cost is 15-20% lower than that of foreign samples.

Anaterm-527 sealant was developed by specialists of the Research Institute of Polymers JSC (part of the RT-Chemcomposite holding) as part of the solution of the state task of import substitution. It was created as an alternative to Loctite 577 of the German company Henkel, which is now used by Russian industry. Domestic sealant is efficient at temperatures from minus 60 ° С to plus 150 ° С, has high chemical resistance to oils, fuels, antifreezes, solvents, acids and alkalis. The working strength of the joint is achieved after three hours of curing of the sealant at a temperature of 20-25 ° C, full strength within a day.

"The new acrylic polymer has been successfully tested at the AvtoVAZ PJSC automobile plant and at a number of other machine-building enterprises producing products for railway transport and equipment for oil and gas wells. Work is underway to introduce it into the design documentation and manufacture the first experimental industrial parties, "said Vadim Lukonin, director general of JSC Research Institute of Polymers.
