RATM Holding increased profit from sales of glass containers by 84%

RATM Holding summed up the results for 2020 in one of the key business areas - the production of container glass.

According to the information of the Acting General Director of Siberian Glass LLC (Sibsteklo, an asset of the RATM Holding) Anton Mora, the production of products in glass complexes located in the Ekran industrial park, in comparison with 2019, increased in pieces by 8% - from 597 million to 643.3 million, and in tons by 5% - from 180 thousand to 189.3 thousand tons (more than 3 thousand tons were provided by increasing the utilization rate of molten glass by two percentage points - from 0.84 to 0.86).

The share of glass containers manufactured using NNPB technology (Narrow Neck Press and Blow - reduces the weight of a standard bottle by 90 g) increased from 61 to 64%. Thus, in 2020, 414 million units of lightweight packaging rolled off the conveyors. As a result, the average weight of glassware decreased by 2% - from 301 to 294 g, which allows keeping the selling prices down.

Financial results demonstrate positive dynamics. Revenue from the sale of glass containers amounted to 4.2 billion rubles - 14% more than a year earlier, profit from sales - 889 million, while in 2019 483 million (+ 84%). EBITDA reached a record value of 1.13 billion rubles (in 2019 - 750 million, in 2018 - 529 million).

At present, Sibsteklo is completing a large-scale investment project for the construction of a new furnace with a capacity of 375 tons of molten glass per day - one of the largest in Russia. The enterprise carries out commissioning works. After putting the furnace into operation, the total productivity of glass complexes will rise by 25% - up to 800 million glass items. The volume of investments is more than 1.5 billion rubles; the federal fund for the development of industry and the Eurasian Development Bank participate in financing.
