Decision issued to abolish 30% of SNiPs

A new version of the so-called “1521 List” has been published on the government’s official website. This is a list of GOST and SP standards that are mandatory for use in connection with the provisions of the Federal Law “Technical Regulation on the Safety of Buildings and Structures”.

The new list was approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 985 of July 4, 2020. It will enter into force on August 1. Then the existing list, approved by Government Decision No. 1521 of December 26, 2014, will expire.

“From August 1, the number of mandatory requirements for the safety of buildings and structures will be reduced by 30%. Excessive and duplicate norms were not included in the new list of national standards and codes of rules, ”the statement on the official website of the cabinet says.

It is worth noting that none of the state standards and the joint ventures appearing in the current “list of 1521” are excluded from the new document. Some of them were expectedly replaced by the adopted updated versions (SP 16.13330.2017, SP 17.13330.2017, SP 18.13330.2019, etc.).
