At the plant they are being modest: so far these are only the first steps on the way to mass production, because the technology is complex.

“Glassware with a Venetian thread, which we can see in many of the world's largest museums, was made on the island of Murano, in Venice,” Vasily Samokhvalov, a leading artist of the Neman glassworks, tells the correspondent of the “Lady newspaper”. - This is where their name came from. And the first samples of this glass were invented in Rome. It got to the point that using this technology a portrait of a person appeared on the vase. And this portrait on a certain scale could be repeated dozens of times. But glass with a Venetian thread at the end of the 13th century was especially developed in Venice, as already mentioned, on the island of Murano. Moreover, glassblowers were forbidden to leave the island. This is how the unique Murano glass was born. His secret has been kept secret for centuries. Not all secrets are revealed today. But we took the risk of trying to revive the unique style on the Lida soil. While our craftsmen are working on the color, thickness and frequency of the product's pattern. To start serial production of products, it is necessary that the technology has been developed and perfected.

- We will not reveal all the secrets, we will only partially touch upon the technology so that it is clear what the products with the Venetian thread are, - says Vasily Samokhvalov. - Usually it is a collective work. One master arms himself with an iron pipe, collects liquid glass from a large furnace. The molten glass mass adheres easily to the tube. The second master at this time heats up special colored glazing beads. The resulting hot lump he answers with a pipe. Two red-hot blanks are connected, and when one of them is pulled back, a colored thread is obtained. The thread is wound on a glass blank. At the end, the glassblower blows out, like a soap bubble, even a vase, even a decanter, even a dish - whatever. At the same time, the master keeps the entire mass on weight, no matter how heavy the future product may be, and at the same time forms it with the help of tools.

To make a unique Venetian decor on any product, the preparatory stage is important. According to the masters, glass is a difficult material to process. You can give it the desired shape only in molten form, and when it solidifies, nothing can be altered. A month ago, at the "Neman" glass factory, with the light hand of Valery Baginsky, the first product with a Venetian thread was produced. The master's ability to beautifully distribute colors over the surface is his separate merit. But in order for this expensive decor technology to adequately sit on the product, the same unique shape is needed. Artists think about it, as well as about the colors of threads.
