A new production will open at Lism

The lighting giant of Mordovia, the company "Lisma" has good development prospects. The company managed to find investors who in the near future intend to establish the production of glass products for the medical industry on the Saransk site. This was told by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry, Science and New Technologies of Mordovia Alexander Sedov.

“Over the past 5-6 years, the volume of production of the main products at Lisma, incandescent lamps has been declining,” the minister said. “Two factors influenced this significantly. The first is the government’s energy efficiency policy, which prohibits the use of incandescent lamps with a capacity of over one hundred watts. The second is the emergence of a new, competitive product - LED lamps, which are actively marketed. Currently, Lisma has a rather difficult financial situation. Together with The leadership of the enterprise and the management of large financial and industrial holdings were looking for cooperation opportunities to enter new markets and find and master the production of new types of products. Just last week, we managed to reach an agreement with one of the organizations. And at the moment, we are working on a cooperation agreement, and most importantly, about investing in Lisma in order to support the company at this stage and help to master the production of new types of products.

Now glass products are in great demand. Lism has a very strong glass production. Moreover, glass is produced there not only for lamps, but also for the oil refining industry. At the moment, a very promising area of development is the production of glass for the medical industry. We have found a common language with the company, and we expect that by the end of this year we will have a new partner in their person who will deal with the development of new production. At the same time, lamp production will be maintained, and those people who are currently working in this production should not lose their jobs. "

“In fact, we are talking about the opening of a new glass production at Lisma. As for the timing of this project, our partners take about a year to order equipment. I think that 2021 is a very realistic time for launching of this production, ”added the Minister of Industry of Mordovia.
