The Crimean soda plant in 2019 reduced the production of soda ash by 21% against a background of major repairs

Crimean Soda Plant PJSC (Krasnoperekopsk, Crimea) in 2019 reduced the production of soda ash by 20.8% compared to 2018, to 489.7 thousand tons, follows from the materials of the enterprise.

Including the plant last year produced 336.97 thousand tons of “A” grade soda ash (premium), which is 13.4% less than a year earlier.

It is also reported that in 2019 the plant produced about 27.18 thousand tons of baking soda (a decrease of 13.1%) and about 25.99 thousand tons of baking salt (a decrease of 0.1%).

As reported, in May last year, the company carried out “large-scale shutdown repairs”, such work was performed for the first time in 10 years.

The Crimean soda plant was commissioned in 1973, its design capacity is 698 thousand tons of products per year. The enterprise is the only plant in the south-west of Russia for the production of calcined technical soda, which is used in the metallurgical, chemical, petrochemical, oil refining, pulp and paper, electronic industries, and in the manufacture of glass and household goods.

The plant also produces baking soda, table salt, sand, gravel, anthracite, lime, fluff, distillation liquid and household chemicals.

Products of the Crimean chemical plant are sold, in addition to Russia, in India, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Egypt, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Ukraine and several other countries.

According to the company, as of September 2019, its main shareholder is the Cypriot Dwara Trading Limited (77.4%).
