At the glass production in Roslavl, which was in decline a few years ago, the main equipment was modernized, production was adjusted and economic indicators improved. Products are sent all over Russia and are actively developing exports.

The large glass furnace weighs 200 tons. The huge mechanism must never be turned off - it works around the clock, otherwise the oven will fail. There are two of them in production. The glass factory creates 650 thousand pieces of new products per day - bottles for the alcoholic, food industry and cans. Such volumes became possible thanks to the modernization carried out by the new management.

Nikolay Savchin, general director of a glass factory in Roslavl:

“The enterprise got with two emergency furnaces. Thanks to the efforts of both employees and the administration - and the governor Alexey Vladimirovich Ostrovsky got involved in this issue - one stove was modernized. There are plans to modernize the second glass-making furnace. Significant investment is required. I hope the administration will assist us here as well. "

Roslavl Glass Factory is the largest enterprise in the region, employing 860 people.

During the regional parliamentary week, the plant was visited by Olga Okuneva, First Deputy Chairperson of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children. The parliamentarian got acquainted with the peculiarities of the production of glass containers in the shops and the working conditions of the personnel. She positively noted that there are social programs for the employees of the plant, a medical center and a canteen are working. I talked to the workers.
