III decade, March 2024. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

Unlike other building materials, glass shipments continue to increase. In the third decade of March 2024, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market (domestic deliveries + imports) amounted to plus 38.7% compared to the corresponding period last year.

In March 2024, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market amounted to 3.3 million square meters. m, which is 33.8% more than for the same period in 2023.

For the period from the beginning of the year to March 31, 2024, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market reached 10.3 million square meters. m, which is 40.0% more than for the same period in 2023.

Consumption of glass delivered by rail for the period from January 1 to March 31, 2024 increased in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to February 29, 2024):

• Volga Federal District + 222.7% (previously +234.8%);

• Far Eastern Federal District +90.4% (previously +20.9%);

• Siberian Federal District +41.1% (previously +54.4%);

• North Caucasian Federal District +34.7% (previously +45.6%);

• Northwestern Federal District +19.2% (previously +26.3%);

• Ural Federal District +19.1% (previously +23.9%).

At the same time, there is a decrease in the supply of glass by rail for the period from January 1 to March 31, 2024 in two districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to February 29, 2024):

• Southern Federal District -31.9% (previously -39.7%);

• Central Federal District -23.4% (previously -6.6%).

The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption in 2023 was ~21.7%. For January 2024 – 22%.
