Gusev glassblowers were the first to visit the Crystal Museum after the opening

In Vladimir, after reconstruction, and then - after restrictions associated with the coronavirus, an updated Crystal Museum was opened.

The legendary masters of the Gusev art school were among the first visitors to the renewed exposition of the Museum of Crystal in Vladimir.

The works of many of them are on display. General Director of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve Svetlana Melnikova told the audience that it was important to present not only the works of honored masters, but also young artists. According to VSMZ employees, as a result, the museum was reopened in less than a year and a half.

Gusev craftsmen noted the interesting artistic solution of the exposition and its content. Luiza Matosyan, in particular, with notes of slight sadness, noticed that the very first work of painting on hot glass is presented in the museum. By the way, here is also the composition "Architecture", the author of which is her husband Vyacheslav Zaitsev.

The Crystal Museum displays over 400 items. The collection of both pre-revolutionary and modern art glass clearly shows the history of the development of glass production on the Vladimir land, in particular, the history of the Gusevsky Crystal Factory. At present, the collection of the museum is replenished with works of modern masters, including honored and folk artists of Russia, members of the Russian Academy of Arts.
