What is happening with the construction of a glass factory in the Kyzylorda region

According to the Department of Industrial and Innovative Development of the Kyzylorda region, the construction of the plant is completed by 70%.

"The stopped work is connected with the installation of the melting bath and the kiln. By the decision of the special commission for the installation, entry of foreign highly qualified specialists is allowed".

It is noted that due to technical features, the completion of these works requires four months (from November) and the conditions of the thermal regime (above - 10 ° C).

"Due to the delay in the arrival of specialists from China, the date for commissioning the plant has been postponed to 2021," the department recalled.

Earlier it was reported that the launch of a flat glass plant for 42.1 billion tenge was expected by the end of this year. The project capacity will be 197.1 thousand tons per year. By launching the enterprise, it is planned to create 100 jobs. Note that the heating up of the melting furnace was scheduled for July 2020. However, due to the spread of the coronavirus, the dates were postponed indefinitely. Orda Glass Ltd told LS that the arrival of specialists from China on equipment adjustment was expected.

In addition, LS wrote that the construction of the plant was planned to be completed in the IV quarter of 2019. In early April 2019, it was reported that the plant was not put into operation due to a conflict between the founders. As explained in the regional department of industrial and innovative development, the American company Stewart Engineers, without any arguments, refused to further participate in the project, thereby placing the main founder of the project, the Chinese company King Charm Development, in a difficult position. Later, the American side expressed a desire to return to the project of the glass factory in Kyzylorda as soon as Orda Glass fulfills its obligations under the contract. Despite the delay in payments, in March 2019, American investors delivered several thousand dollars worth of air ducts to a construction site in Kyzylorda. Initially, the plant was planned to be commissioned in 2017.

In addition, it is planned to create at least eight production facilities around the glass factory. In particular, the preparation of three projects - for the production of fiberglass, mirrors, glassware and containers - has already begun. In particular, they want to launch the production of fiberglass for 2 billion tenge. It is planned to start the implementation of the second project for 4 billion tenge in 2021. Thus, the opening of the production of mirrors is expected. As for the third project, they want to establish the production of glassware and containers in the region. It is estimated at 10 billion tenge.
