BSK set a new record for production output

BSK ends the year with a significant event: the plant produced the millionth ton of soda ash grade A.

The main product produced by the plant - soda ash - is considered a strategic raw material required for many industries. BSK is the largest producer of soda ash in Russia; its share in the Russian market is over 70%.

BSK produces soda ash grades A and B, which are used in the production of all types of glass; ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy: for the production of lead, zinc, tungsten, strontium, chromium, for desulfurization and dephosphorization of cast iron, in the purification of exhaust gases, for neutralization of media. For the production of electrovacuum glass, soda ash grade A of the highest grade with a strictly normalized particle size distribution is used.

The initial production volumes of grade A soda ash amounted to 300 thousand tons per year. Over the past two decades, this figure has been increased more than three times. On New Year's Eve, the enterprise set a new absolute record for the production of grade A soda - one million tons per year! Historically significant production volume was achieved for the first time in the entire history of Soda's existence.

- Our company has set a new record - a million tons of "heavy" soda was produced in 2020! This is not just a quantitative indicator, behind this figure is the well-coordinated work of the entire labor collective of the Soda site and the enterprise's services. I congratulate all employees of the Bashkir Soda Company on this new achievement. Forward to further successes, to further heights! - the general director of BSK Eduard Davydov congratulated the plant workers on the significant event.

The production index of one million tons of "heavy" soda per year was achieved thanks to a number of technological measures aimed at increasing production capacity. In particular, the automation of control systems was introduced, the burners of the soda furnaces and the exhaust system were modernized, the work on cleaning the refrigerators was carried out, which made it possible to improve the operation of all technological equipment. All these measures contributed to an increase in the productivity of soda ovens, and, accordingly, to an increase in the production of grade A soda.

Work continues to further increase the production of grade A soda. In particular, the issue of building a department for the production of grade A soda at the production of Soda ash No. 2 is underway.
