Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. Presidium meeting

On October 25, 2022, under the chairmanship of Viktor Osipov, President of the Association StekloSouz of Russia, a scheduled meeting of the Presidium of the StekloSoyuz of Russia (hereinafter SSR) was held.

Issues were discussed following the results of the work of the glass industry for nine months of the current year.

The main tasks in 2022 are to maintain the production of glass and products in various segments of the industry. An important requirement of today is the technical regulation of production and environmental safety.

Heads of departments reported on the current state of glass production and products. It was noted that the volumes of production, after a decrease due to a fall in exports, are being restored due to an increase in consumption in the domestic market.

Valery Shubin, Director of the Industry Development Department, reported on technological independence and plans for the development of domestic production of machinery, equipment, raw materials.

In particular, he said that within the framework of the decision of the Expert Council (EC) of the Scientific and Technical Center at the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (NTC SSR), work is being carried out with manufacturers of machines, equipment and refractories.

There is a search for investors to organize the production of special paints for decorating glass. Consultations are being held with the heads of Russian paint and varnish factories on the organization of this material.

There is every reason to believe that as part of the implementation of the decisions of the SSR on import substitution, the glass industry in 2023 will receive the necessary Russian-made product.

Heads of departments reported on the implementation of new projects for the production of fiberglass, foam glass, float glass, technical and medical glass in Russia.

Nikolai Talakuev, Director of the Department of Technical Regulation and Quality Control, reported on the new requirements in the legislation, noted that it is necessary to pay special attention to the development of new GOSTs for medical glass and glass containers.

The Presidium took into account the wishes of Aleksey Savin, Chairman of the Ecology Committee, to accelerate the implementation of the Road Map (RD), approved by the Government of the Russian Federation.

It is recommended to bring through the interdepartmental Working Group (WG) of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, whose members are the heads of the committee, on classifying cullet to the 5th hazard class.

The Presidium recommended Lyudmila Korshunova, head of the Scientific and Technical Center of the SSR, director of the Glass-Gas Institute, to consider, together with the Institute of Glass, the Institute of Silicate Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISKh RAS) and other research institutes, the design of glass melting plants for the production of all materials.

Olga Drobyshevskaya, project manager, reported on the preparations for the Forum "Glass and Modern Technologies - XXI", which will be held from November 17 to 18, 2022 (Gus-Khrustalny).
