Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. Meeting on the development of the production of glass containers, secondary raw materials from cullet and their technical regulation

On February 01, 2023, the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter referred to as the SSR) held a meeting on the development of the production of glass containers, secondary raw materials from cullet and technical regulation of these segments of the glass industry.

Reports were made by:

• Pavel Alexandrovich Gorshkov, Director of the Glass Packaging Department;

• Savin Alexey Vladimirovich, Chairman of the Ecology Committee;

• Talakuev Nikolai Pavlovich, Director of the Department of Technical Regulation and Quality Control.

In their reports, the heads of SSR subdivisions outlined the issues that are the basis for increasing the production of glass containers, increasing the consumption of raw materials from cullet, and standardization issues.

It was noted that the planned indicators in these areas are stable, there is a slow growth in the consumption of cullet.

Savin A.V. reported that state programs are currently being implemented to develop the production of raw materials from cullet. Many glass container factories are involved in the development of the production of an important product for glassmaking from secondary resources.

Talakuev N.P. said that alarm signals were planned for the technical regulation of the production of glass containers. However, he expressed confidence that the production of standards for glass containers would eliminate the resulting problems in legal regulation.

Gorshkov P.A. said that glass container production will develop within the framework of the approved Program for 2023. There will be no reduction in deliveries of finished products to the market. At the same time, he drew attention to the supply of machinery and equipment to factories. He called for intensifying work with the Indian engineering holding Shamvik Glasstech.

The meeting was chaired by Viktor Ivanovich Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia.
