Rostec began production of glass for the Moscow 2024 metro trains

ONPP "Technology" named after. A.G. Romashina (part of Rostec) began production of glazing for driver's cabins for the Moscow 2024 metro trains. This is stated in the message of the state corporation.

“The technology allows us to produce structures with complex geometry and futuristic design. Like, for example, the front glazing for the new “Moscow - 2024” trains, as well as for the “Baltiets” cars running in the St. Petersburg metro. In total, we will produce glazing kits for 40 metropolitan subway trains and another 7 for the St. Petersburg subway, in addition to the 26 already supplied,” Rostec said.

The first sets for the head cars have already been sent to the customer.

A metal oxide film is applied to the surface of the glazing, the thickness of which is no more than 60 nanometers - thinner than a human hair, Rostec noted. This coating conducts electric current, which evenly heats the structure. Thanks to this, the glass maintains full transparency during temperature changes, the report says.
