«Ekran» celebrated its 70th anniversary

Novosibirsk celebrated the anniversary of the Ekran plant, which was awarded the Order of the October Revolution in 1970 for its participation in space exploration. Veterans and employees of enterprises operating within the perimeter of the RATM Holding industrial park of the same name were congratulated by representatives of executive authorities, the parliamentary corps, industry unions and partners.

Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Sergei Syomka emphasized that Ekran, opened in 1954, has a rich history. The plant produced devices for radar and television. Today, the direction of electron-optical instrument making is concentrated in Ekran-Optical Systems JSC (EOS, an asset of RATM Holding), glass production is concentrated in Siberian Glass LLC (Sibsteklo, an asset of RATM Holding).

“Sibsteklo is one of the largest glass container enterprises in Russia, and has been developing at a rapid pace for a number of years, including with the assistance of the government of the Novosibirsk region, as well as at the federal level,” noted the vice-governor. – Future plans are also related to the expansion of production and sales markets.

According to the Minister of Economic Development of the Novosibirsk Region Lev Reshetnikov, “Ekran”, despite its advanced age, is a promising and significant platform for the economy of the region.

– An industrial park was created here, which already in 2018 received accreditation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation - one of the first in the Novosibirsk region and Russia; in 2024, the status was confirmed, not everyone in the region succeeded,” he emphasized, wishing the enterprises located on the territory of “Ekran” further growth in key indicators.

The head of the department for interaction with state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and local governments of the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District, Vasily Sokolov, congratulated the plant workers and veterans on this significant date:

– You, like the entire industry of Siberia, face global challenges outlined by the head of state. The teams of EOS and Sibstekl cope with them with honor - they introduce capacities, introduce advanced technologies, and apply new approaches to organizing business.

According to Anton Tyrtyshny, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Deputies of the City of Novosibirsk, there are not so many enterprises in Novosibirsk that have made a name for themselves with their achievements throughout the country and occupy such a prominent position to this day:

– “Screen” also applies to them. Your leaders have always thought globally, understood the need to meet the future, to promote profitable areas that will be the glory of our city.

According to the President of RATM Holding Eduard Taran, unique opportunities were created by the hands of unique specialists:

– Over the years, “Ekran” was headed by Georgy Emelyanovich Kolonda and Anatoly Aleksandrovich Kataev, who united the efforts of factory workers, thanks to whom “Ekran” accumulated potential, survived the transformations of the 90s and found a rebirth. The projects of each of the RATM Holding enterprises working at Ekran are important for the region and the country. We respect the creative traditions that have ensured the continuity of generations and a strong foundation for confident development.

Based on the values of veterans, they achieve impressive results here: as Sibstekl CEO Anton Mor said, in 2004, when Ekran celebrated its half-century anniversary, they proudly said that they produced 140 million glass products a year. To date, productivity has increased sixfold - in 2023, 857 million glass containers rolled off the assembly lines.

Today, Sibsteklo is at the forefront of the “green trend” - it facilitates glass packaging and increases the share of glass waste in the composition of raw materials, implementing the “from processing to disposal” model.

The high quality of products for strategic industries is maintained at EOS - they continue to produce photomultiplier tubes with improved characteristics used in soft landing systems for spacecraft.

“Behind the achievements of our residents there is a huge amount of work,” stated Dmitry Klepalov, General Director of RID Group - Novosibirsk, the management company of the Ekran industrial park, noting that the Ekran plant has always been multidisciplinary. – By creating conditions for production activities, we strive to form cooperation chains, find new opportunities to increase business efficiency, which helps to maintain leading positions and achieve success.

Veterans of the Ekran plant, managers, staff and employees of Siberian Glass LLC, Ekran-Optical Systems JSC, RID Group - Novosibirsk JSC were presented with certificates of honor and letters of gratitude from the governor of the Novosibirsk region, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Novosibirsk region, the ministry economic development of the Novosibirsk region, the mayor's office of the city of Novosibirsk, the Council of Deputies of the city of Novosibirsk, the administration of the Central District of the city of Novosibirsk in the Zheleznodorozhny, Zaeltsovsky and Central districts, the Association "StekloSouz of Russia", the President of RATM Holding Eduard Taran.
