Sibsteklo has mastered the production of brown cans

Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about a member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, Siberian Glass LLC (“Sibsteklo”):

Sibirskoe Steklo LLC (Sibsteklo, one of the largest glass container enterprises in Russia, an asset of RATM Holding) expanded the range of glass products, mastering the production of brown cans - the first batch amounted to 500 thousand pieces.

“For beer containers, brown color is traditional; the plant was the first to paint a three-liter can in this way: the demand for it from draft beer distributors has been growing over the past two years,” comments Anton Mor, General Director of Sibstekl. – Two consumer trends have coincided – Soviet, which is associated with quality and naturalness, and environmentally friendly – these are exactly the characteristics that glass containers have. Consumers are focusing on the “green” agenda and are gradually abandoning plastic and difficult-to-recycle materials, choosing glass packaging.

Let us remind you that glass can be recycled countless times. Currently, Sibstekl uses more than 50% glass waste as raw materials for the production of brown containers.

According to Anton Mora, beverage market participants evaluate the new packaging solution positively - Sibsteklo is increasing its customer base at the expense of keg beer producers. The company is considering the possibility of starting to produce a two-liter brown can in the future.
