Investments in the Gomel region of Belarus grew by 16%

At the end of 2019, 4 billion Belarusian rubles (122 billion rubles) were invested in the economy of the Gomel region of Belarus, which is 16% more than in 2018. This was stated by Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Gennady Solovey March 30, BelTA news agency reported.

According to him, the volume of foreign direct investment amounted to $ 196 million. One of the largest projects is the launch of glass processing at the Gomelsteklo enterprise.

At the same time, in 2020, the implementation of large investment projects continues, including the Petrikovsky potash deposit, as well as the commissioning of new facilities at the Mozyr Oil Refinery.

In 2019, enterprises of the Gomel region produced products worth 23 billion Belarusian rubles (706 billion rubles). About 65% of products are exported to 99 countries.
