Dagestan plans to export rice, drinks and oil equipment to Kuwait

Dagestan expects to establish export of products of enterprises of the republic to Kuwait. Rice, soft drinks and equipment for the oil and oil refining industry are planned to be delivered to this country, the acting Minister of Economy of the Republic, Haji Sultanov, told TASS.

“We see Kuwait as a promising country (for export - approx. TASS). All materials are sent to the Minkavkaz and the Kuwaiti side. Rice is planned to be exported there, our soft drinks. In addition, there are quite developed oil refining and production related to oil production, therefore the products of our enterprises can be delivered to this country - this is the Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant, the Gadzhiev Plant, and the Makhachkala Fiberglass Plant in the future, this is Dagizel - they can produce equipment for oil industry, "Sultanov said.

According to him, before the end of the year, the Dagestan delegation will take part in the business mission of the regions of the North Caucasus in Kuwait, in addition, the authorities of Dagestan have already made a proposal to organize a business mission of Kuwait to the republic.

“We hope that either a center will be formed in Kuwait or Iran, from which our products will go to other countries in the future. There is interest on their part, we will discuss these issues this year,” the source added. TASS.

According to the Ministry of Economy of Dagestan, currently products from the republic are exported to the countries of the former Soviet Union, Europe and Southeast Asia. The main partner countries of Dagestan are Azerbaijan, China, Czech Republic, Belarus, Iran, Ukraine, Georgia and Turkey. In 2018, the foreign trade turnover of Dagestan amounted to $ 172.6 million, which is 18% less than in 2017, while the export of Dagestan products grew by 15% last year and amounted to more than $ 64 million.
